“Jim Bruno played both of my venues many times during my tenure, always accompanied by his loyal fanbase while consistently winning over new audience members. After opening for ex-Eagle Timothy B Schmit, an industry insider told me " I never arrive in time for the opener, but after this set...I'm NEVER missing another.” - Dennis Juarez— Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, Retired Operations Manager Slims, San Francisco; Great American Music Hall, San Francisco

Jim Bruno trio

Singer-songwriter

What does Shawn Colvin, Chuck Prophet, Thad Cockrell, Mary Lou Lord, Cliff Eberhardt, Maurice Tani and Laurie MacAlister have in common? They’ve all recorded songs written by Jim Bruno! Also, Molly Tuttle, one of the fastest rising stars in Nashville, is an ex-songwriting student of Jim’s.

Jim Bruno is a Northern California based published songwriter and taught Songwriting at Foothill College in Los Altos, California and at the Freight and Salvage in Berkeley.

Jim is currently based in Woodland, CA and fronts an outstanding trio including the great guitarist Jim Barnes and on featured on bass the amazing Andrew Sisco.

The trio recently performed with Tender Mercies, a side project for members of Counting Crows.

As a performing songwriter he has performed with the following artists: Shawn Colvin, Timothy B Schmidt, Graham Parker, John Gorka, Charlie Musselwhite, Joe Ely, Greg Brown, Mary Lou Lord, Steve Forbert, Bill Morrissey, Big Twist, and Cliff Eberhardt.  He’s performed at the Greenwich Village Folk Festival, the Udine Folk Festival in Udine, Italy and has toured five times in Europe. He also played bass, guitar and sang in the Shawn Colvin Band for a number of years and often performed with Shawn as a duet.

He’s negotiated and signed numerous song publishing agreements. Among others these publishers include Bug Music and the Welk Music Group in Los Angeles, and Largo Music in New York. In addition to his having his own publishing company, Jimmy Bruno Music, as a songwriter he currently has a music publishing agreement with Universal Music Group. He is an affiliated Publisher and Songwriter with BMI and the Harry Fox Agency.

Jim Barnes has performed in several bands for solo artists, local community theatres and the Oakland Temple Hill Orchestra.

Jim has also provided lead and rhythm guitar parts for studio recordings. Jim loves the creative process that goes into creating parts for a songwriter.

Jim comes from a musical family and has a formal musical education beginning at age 6 with classical guitar and jazz at age 13. He continued his formal education in music composition and performance at Cal State Hayward. His feels his best music education came from performing through the years with several artists and within their varied genres.

A product of the public school music system, Andrew Sisco bounced from horns to skins to strings between grammar school and college, settling on bass guitars and viols in various bands around Modesto, until moving to Sacramento.

Joining the Folk Rock duo The Hey-Nows! of Yolo County has kept him rocking for ten years and counting, entertaining beer bars, wine rooms, state fairs, and most venues in between.

Concurrently to driving Yolo County’s Favorite Dad Band, Andrew has supported such local talent as Nikki Nation and recording artist Emily Adams.
